Objective: To assess the risk factors of cerebral infarction aftertransient ischemic attack (TIA),and to assess the ability of ABCD3criteriasystem combine with cerebral and cervical vascular image examination inevaluating the early risk of stroke after TIA.Methods:Retrospectively collecting the clinical data of a total of150TIA patients admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of ChongqingMedical school from2011.7to2013.1,recording the occurrences of strokewithin7days after onset and evaluating the early risk of stroke after TIA byABCD3criteria and their cerebral and cervical vascular image examinationrespectively,to do a statistic analysis. Results:The differences in ipsilateral carotid stenosis≥50%(OR4.707,95%CI1.029-21.540, P<0.05)、 dual TIA (OR7.942,95%,CI2.340-26.954,P<0.05)、AF(OR27.784,95%CI4.321-178.634,P<0.001)and Duration≥60min(OR3.538,95%CI1.136-11.021,P<0.05)make a statistical significance;Cerebral infarction were observed in22cases(14.7%).2cases (2.6%) in patients with ABCD3≤3points,10cases(23.8%)in patients with ABCD34-5points and10cases(32.1%) in patients with ABCD36-9points respectively. Conclusion:Ipsilateral carotid stenosis≥50%、dual TIA、AF andDuration≥60min are independent risk factors of early stroke after TIA.ABCD3score criteria has value to predict the early risk for stroke after TIA,and a higher risk has a correlation with the higher ABCD3score. Patientswith ABCD3≥6-9points and ipsilateral carotid stenosis≥50%semultenouslyare more likely to experience early stroke after TIA.
