Objective: Our study was aimed to find the traditional chinese medicine(TCM)distribution of Type2diabetes with mild cognitive impairment, which under theguidance of TCM theory and doing a unified survey of TCM syndrome, guidingclinical.Methods:1. All eligible eases were in accordance, with the unified design standardsurvey, clinical information including:1) General information: number hospital number, demographic characteristics, medical history, etc.2) Western diagnosis: type2diabetes,mild cognitive impairment.3) Chinese diagnosis: clinical symptoms, tongue, pulse andso on.2. Based on inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria, collected patients which came fromthe Second Hospital of Dalian Medical University, during the period of June1st,2012-February17th2012. After the data was entered, we checked them again toensured no error.3. We used SPSS18.0to analysis data. Categorical data was expressed by frequency andpercentage. While the measurement data was expressed by mean±standard deviation. When p value<0.05, we considered the test had statistically significant difference.4. We use factor analysis, referring to Diagnostics of Chinese Medicine and TCMsyndrome diagnosis and treatment terminology, combined with clinical to determineTCM syndrome type.Results:1. The average age of two groups between men and women, we do t-test, p>0.05, there is not statistically significant. Studies have shown that there was no genderdifference in the distribution of the age of onset.2. Clinical manifestations of type2diabetes with mild cognitive impairment, whichdescending order by frequency of occurrence were mental decline, burnout, fatigue, numbness of the limbs, blurred, vision dizziness, insomnia, dry eyes, thirst, spontaneous perspiration, urine output, dry stool, ringing in the ears, swelling of the limbs, nocturia,deafness.3. Tongue and pulse are mostly as follows: red tongue, thin white coating, greasy moss, rapid pulse, deep and thready pulse, slippery and rapid pulse.4. We analyzed58four diagnostic variables factor,9common factors came out.Combined with clinical,5syndrome in121patients distributed as follows: kidney weaksyndrome, is the most common type(35.53%), followed by spleen weaksyndrome(19.8%), liver depressed and blood deficiency syndrome(17.36%), turbidphlegm blocking the clear orifices syndrome(15.7%), the least is blood stasis hinder themeridian syndrome(11.57%).Conclusion:1. Based on the results of Factor Analysis, referring to Diagnostics ofChinese Medicine and TCM syndrome diagnosis and treatment terminology, combinedwith clinical, type2diabetes with mild cognitive impairment was divided into5mostcommon syndromes:(1) Kidney weak syndrome: lumbar pain, weakness in limbs, spontaneous sweating, night sweats, five upset hot, tinnitus, deafness, enuresis, timid, nocturnal enuresis, blackeyelid, red and thin tongue, thin and rapid pulse;(2) Spleen weak syndrome: thirst, urine output, eat more and easy hunger, shortness ofbreath, loose stools, cold limbs, mental decline, red and thin tongue, thin and deeppulse;(3) Liver depressed and blood deficiency syndrome: irritability, numbness of the limbs, blurred vision, dizziness, dry eyes, upset, frequent urination, bad breath, constipation, like deep breath, cognitive impairment;(4) Turbid phlegm blocking the clear orifices syndrome:top-heavy such as wrap, heavylimbs, drowsiness, chest tightness, epigastric pain, abdominal distension, eat less, littlethirsty drink, defecate stick, light and fat tongue, greasy moss, slippery and rapid pulse;(5) Blood stasis hinder the meridian:tingling in the extremities, dark purple lips, swelling of the limbs, little thirsty to drink, dark and red tongue, with petechiae.2. Based on frequency analysis and factor analysis to reduce the dimension, combinedwith clinical practice to summarize the TCM syndrome distribution, is a viable andeffective method to study TCM syndrome.3. In the study of disease TCM syndrome distribution laws, theoretical and practical combination is imperative.
