Objective:To investigate the changes of serum FGF19levels in type2diabetes and its influence factors. Methods:Serum FGF19levels were determined by ELISA in81type2diabetic patients and65age, sex-matched healthy controls. The type2diabetic patients were newly diagnosed and recruited at clinic of department of the Metabolism and Endocrinology, the Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University from March2007to June2008. The healthy controls were enrolled from subjects in the community who came for health screening at least three years in the Health Examination Center of the Xiangtan Center Hospital from July2012to August. Waist circumstance (WC), hip circumstance (HC), waist hip ratio (WHR), body mass index (BMI), systolic blood pressure/diastolic blood pressure (SBP/DBP), serum triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), fasting blood glucose (FBG), fasting insulin (FINS), homeostasis model of assessment-insulin resistance(HOMA-IR) and hemoglobinA1C(HbA1C) were measured. Serum FGF19was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Serum FGF19levels between type 2diabetic patients and healthy controls were compared, and the influence factors of serum FGF19were analyzed. Results:There was no statistical difference of serum FGF19levels between type2diabetic patients and controls[256.60(144.75-410.81) vs.296.54(167.52-468.86)pg/mL, P=0.929]. Serum FGF19levels in type2diabetic patients with dyslipidemia was significantly higher than which in type2diabetic patients without dyslipidemia[298.06(208.03-459.46) vs.202.27(131.92-362.62) pg/mL,P=0.033].In type2diabetic patients, serum FGF19levels correlated positively with FBG and LDL-C (r=0.221, P=0.048; r=0.241, P=0.030respectively). Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis showed that, in type2diabetic patients, LDL-C was an independent factor influencing serum FGF-19(P=0.030).In healthy controls, serum FGF19correlated negatively with BMI (r=-0.245, P=0.049),positively with HbA1C, FINS and HOMA-IR (r=0.288, P=0.036; r=0.310, P=0.012; r=0.291, P=0.019respectively). Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis showed that, in healthy controls, BMI and HbA1c were independent factors influencing serum FGF-19(P=0.024, P=0.013respectively).Conclusions:Serum FGF19levels were higher in type2diabetic patients with dyslipidemia compared to those without. In type2diabetic patients, serum FGF19levels correlated positively with LDL-C; LDL-C was an independent factor influencing serum FGF19levels. In healthy people, serum FGF19levels correlated negatively with BMI and positively with HbA1C; BMI and HbA1C were independent factors influencing serum FGF-19levels.
