Objective:This study aims to investigate the changes of serum FGF19levels with type1diabetes and its influence factors. Methods:Serum FGF19levels were determined by ELISA in41type1diabetic patients and75age, sex-matched healthy controls. The type1diabetic patients were recruited at Diabetes Center of the Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University and23hospitals of Hunan Type1diabetes Collaborative research group. The healthy controls were enrolled from children in the community who came for health screening at the Children Health Center of the Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University. Waist circumstance (WC), hip circumstance (HC), waist hip ratio (WHR), body mass index (BMI), serum triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), plasma glucose (PG), c-peptide (CP) were measured. Serum FGF19was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Serum FGF19levels between type1diabetic patients and healthy controls were compared, and the influence factors of serum FGF19were analyzed. Results:In type1diabetic patients, serum FGF19levels were significantly lower than controls [173.0(90.1-284.7) vs.211.7(125.7-314.2) pg/ml, P=0.020]. There was no difference of serum FGF19levels between men and women in the whole group. In type1diabetic patients, serum FGF19levels had no significant correlations with clinical and metabolic parameters. In healthy controls, serum FGF19correlated positively with TC and LDL-C (r=0.347, P=0.002; r=0.284, P=0.013, respectively). After adjusted for age and sex, serum FGF19still correlated positively with TC (r=0.286, P=0.040). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that in healthy controls, TC was an independent factor influencing serum FGF-19(P=0.007).Conclusions:Serum FGF19levels are decreased in type1diabetic patients. There were no significant correlations between serum FGF19levels and other parameters.
