Objective: To observe the clinical application of continuous VSD in the acute andchronic wounds repairing.Methods:60cases of patients in our hospital with causes acute and chronic woundsdefect were involved from January2012to December2012. There are39males and21females, the age ranged from5to90years old, with40acute wound and20chronicwound. All patients were used conventional treatment; the patients with hypertensivepatients or diabetic were controlled blood pressure or blood sugar. They were treated byusing VSD therapy. the removal of necrotic tissues, wound bacterial clearance, thegrowth of granulation tissue, the wound bleeding, allergies and other complications, andthe degree of pain were observed and recorded in patients with the application of VSDduring treatment, To collect the data of the situation of wound healing, functionalrecovery and the satisfaction of patients with VSD treatment wound by surveying thefollow-up of patients who are required to periodic review or by telephone following, and to analysis with statistical.Results:60patients with acute or chronic wounds after using VSD6-20days,88%patients reached surgical repair conditions as the necrotic tissues were completelycleared, and the fresh growth of granulation tissue. With the application of VSDtreatment process,43cases no pain or mild pain in60patients, only five patients cannottolerate the pain, and some patients had invasive weeks the skin dipping phenomenon,4patients had allergic phenomenon,4patients had wound oozing,1patient wound was deteriorated. After conservative therapy, the wound bacteria effective removal rate is80%,the wound bacterial culture positive rate was significantly lower, and the wound curerate is100%. To follow up for1-12months, all patients with joint function graduallyreturned to normal, and the wound healed well, no wound infection, recurrence, orconcurrent symptoms of chronic osteomyelitis. No obvious scarring in skin graft wound, the color is close to normal skin, the texture and abrasion resistance is good, notransplant skin wear and ulceration, flap bloated degree of fading, the valve area and forthe flap wounds gradually restore sensory function; and90%patients and their familiesfeel satisfaction. Conclusions: The continuous vacuum assisted closure can control wound infection, inhibit bacterial growth, removal of necrotic tissue, stimulate the growth of granulationtissue, reduce patient pain and shorten the duration of treatment, etc. is a simple andeffective method for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds, and worthy ofpromotion.
