Retrospective Analysis Of Vacuum Sealing Drainage In The Treatment Of Chronic Wounds

Objective:This study based on retrospective analysis of vacuum sealing drainage(VSD)technique in the treatment of pressure ulcers and diabetic ulcers,aimed to explore the effect of VSD technology in the treatment of chronic refractory wounds.Methods:the clinical data of 116 cases of chronic wound patients(including 118 cases of pressure ulcer wound and 48 cases of diabetic ulcer)were retrospectively analysed,and those were divided into two groups according to the use of vacuum sealing drainage technology among the treatment process.The clinical effects of the two groups were assessed by the time required for patients to be admitted to the two-stage operation(including near skin flap transfer or skin grafting)and the curative effect of the two-stage operation.Results:1.In the pressure ulcer group,the mean time required for patients to be admitted to the two stage of surgery in the VSD treatment group was 12.89±7.064 days,and which in the control group was 19.83±10.897 days.Differences were evaluated by the T test,t=-3.892,P<0.01,it has significant statistical significance.2.In the pressure ulcer group,after 2 weeks of two-stage operation,there were 48 patients cured in the VSD treatment group,16 cases were markedly effective,and 6cases were ineffective,the cure rate was 68.57%.But in the control group,there were only 28 cases cured,10 cases were markedly effective,and 10 cases were ineffective,the cure rate was 58.33%.Differences were evaluated by the Wilcoxon test,u=9.28,P<0.01,the difference was statistically significant.3.In the diabetic ulcer group,the mean time required for patients to be admitted to the two stage of surgery in the VSD treatment group was 10.90±6.226 days,and which in the control group was 18.53±5.433 days.Differences were evaluated by the T test,t=-4.413,P<0.01,it has significant statistical significance.4.In the diabetic ulcer group,after 2 weeks of two-stage operation,there were 24 patients cured in the VSD treatment group,4 cases were markedly effective,and 3cases were ineffective,the cure rate was 77.45%.But in the control group,there were only 9 cases cured,5 cases were markedly effective,and 3 cases were ineffective,the cure rate was 58.33%.Differences were evaluated by the Wilcoxon test,u=145.5,P<0.01,the difference was statistically significant.Conclusion:VSD can accelerate the granulation growth speed which have markedly clinical curative effects and shortens the time required for patients to be admitted to the two stage of surgery.So VSD technology is a simple and effective method for the treatment of chronic refractory wounds.
