Objective To study the influence of Modified BYHWD Tong on the expression of the function of Neuromotor and MMP-9after spinal cord injury in rats. To explore the effect and mechanism of MMP-9in Secondary injury after spinal cord injury And the affect of the traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of spinal cord injury.Methods After using the modified Allen’s impactor (10g×6cm) maked a rat model of spinal cord injury. The76majority and health SD rats were randomly divided into the SCI+high-dose methyl prednisolone treatment group(Group A24)and SCI+Modified BYHWD treatment group (Group B24) and SCI+saline group(Group C24) and The control group(Group D4).The control group of mice with laminectomy and Without causing spinal cord injury. Remove the tissue of spinal cord injury after the experimental rats were executed differently in the Id and3d and7d and14d four different phases. Not only using enzyme-linked immunosorbent experiment (sandwich method) detected the expression of matrix metalloproteinases-9(MMP-9),but also Using Basso Beattie Bresnahan (BBB) classification method movement scoring system to evaluate the motor function recovery status of the experimental rats after spinal cord injury.Results The BBB motor function scores demonstrates the first that the group A and group B, group C scores are significantly reduce At the1d phase.the results is not significant difference(P>0.05).The second.At the3d and7d phase, The group A and group B, group C scores are improved, The score of group A is better than group B, the results is significant difference(P<0.05).A and group B compared with group C, group D,the results is also significant difference(P<0.05).The last. At the14d phase,The group A and group B, group C scores are significantly increased. Group C score lowest,the results is significant difference(P<0.05)compared with A, B group.Especially the scores of group B significantly increased,the results is not significant difference(P>0.05) was compared with A.The expression of MMP-9detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent experiment (sandwich method) demonstrates the first that the levels of MMP-9of the group A and group B, group C were significantly higher than that of group D at different time points.the results is significant difference(P<0.05).. The levels of MMP-9of group A less than group B, and group B less than C group at the1d phase,the results is significant difference(P<0.05).The second..The levels of MMP-9of the group A and group B, group C were Significantly increased and reached a peak at the3d phase,the levels of MMP-9of group A more than group B, and group B more than C group,the results is significant difference(P<0.05).The last. the levels of MMP-9of the group A and group B, group C were downward trend at the7d and14d phase.But still higher than at the1d.At the14d phase.The levels of MMP-9of the group A is particularly close to the group B.the results is not significant difference(P>0.05) was compared with A.Group C is the highest levels of MMP-9,the results is significant difference(P<0.05) compared with A, B group.Concludes The first the modified BYHWD Tong can promote recovery of spinal cord injury in rats motor function.The second. the modified BYHWD Tong can promote recovery of spinal cord injury in rats motor function.In the early stage of the rats after spinal cord injury (1-7days) of rat motor function recovery weaker than methyl prednisolone,But in the later (7-14days) the effect of modified BYHWD Tong is gradually close to methyl prednisolone. The third.The modified BYHWD Tong can Inhibit the expression of MMP-9after spinal cord injury in rats. The levels of MMP-9of spinal cord injury in rats reached a peak value from1-3days after surgery,But the levels of MMP-9apparent decline during7days to14days,Reduce secondary injury.The last the modified BY Tong can Inhibit the expression of MMP-9after spinal cord injury in rat.In the early stage of the rats after spinal cord injury (1-7days) of rat weaker than methyl prednisolone.But in the later (7-14days) the effect of modified BYHWD Tong is gradually close to methyl prednisolone.
