Yichun is located at the northwest of Jiangxi Province, one of the central city in West Jiangxi Province. The dialect of Yichun is a representative dialect around the Yichun and Liuyang area. We found that a word called qule, frequently appears at the end of sentences, making the situations occurrent or impended. The word qule have some similarities with le on the grammatical meaning and function, while also some special differences. We will analysis a lot of examples of the sentences ending by qule, to get to know the grammatical meaning of these sentences. We will also determine the nature of qule and explain its special usage with the theory of cognitive linguistics. This thesis consists of five chapters, the main content of each chapter as follows:Chapter1is the introduction to the thesis. It introduces the subject under study, showing its distinguish feature, and also presents research summary and methods on this issue. The sentences that end by qule, point out the situation in the sentence occurrent or impended. In Chinese le that lies at the end of the sentence usually show the situations happened or to be happened. Only in a few occasions, le can be used in the future tense sentences, without any future tense marker, for example we can say "Kai che Ie!"(The car have started!) before the car starts. While in sentences ended by qule, qule can show the situation is ongoing or happened in the future, and can be used in future tense sentences more than le. These all make it the research focuses that the grammatical meaning and restrictions of the qule sentences, as well as the feature determination. In Chapter2we analysis the grammatical meaning and its features about the sentences ended by qule1——the sentences that present the situation occurrent. We list the verbs, adjectives and words denoting time that can be used in the sentences ended by qule1, and analysis these sentences. After that we sum up their grammatical features. The sentences ended by qule1shows an occurrent situation, which happened before the speech time. They demand that the situations have a definite starting point and can be at least last to the speech time.In Chapter3we analysis the grammatical meaning and its features about the sentences ended by qule2——the sentences that present the situation impended. We list the verbs, adjectives and words denoting time that can be used in the sentences ended by qule2, and analysis these sentences. After that we sum up their grammatical features. The sentences ended by qule2shows an impended situation, which happened after the speech time. They demand that the situation is a change, and with a preparatory stage before it.In Chapter4, we determine the nature of qule. According to the analysis and conclusions made above, we arrived at a conclusion that grammatical meaning of the sentence ended by qule is that the situation has been achieved or is going to be achieved. Qule is not a modal particle or a tense marker, but an aspect marker as achieve subjective.Chapter5explains the characteristics of qule as achieve subjective, using the the theory of cognitive linguistics. We compare qule with le, both as achieve subjective. The characteristics of qule come from the meaning of qu, which meaning move. The spatial displacement is a metaphor of time shifting, showing the relationship between speech time and achievement time of the situation. Qule demands that interval time is associated with the situation.Chapter6concludes the whole thesis, illustrating the main discovering of the thesis and limitations of the study.
