Chinglish appears frequently in Chinese students’ English writings, especially in high vocational students’. In recent years, some scholars and experts have conducted the researches on Chinglish, which are mainly analyzed from the perspective of translation. Few researches have combined Chinglish with English teaching, therefore, it is difficult to solve the problems about Chinglish appearing in English teaching, especially in English writings.The author tries to analyze the adverse impact of Chinglish on high vocational students’ English writings from the perspectives of language transfer and differences between Chinese and English thinking modes. Research problems include:(1) What are the adverse impacts of Chinglish on high vocational students’English writings?(2) What are the reasons causing Chinglish?(3) What countermeasures should be taken to eliminate the adverse impacts? The research applies qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis as major researches approaches. Research measures included questionnaire and example analysis for student’s English writings. The thesis firstly discusses the previous studies on Chinglish and relevant definitions to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of analyzing Chinglish from the perspective of language transfer and differences between Chinese and English thinking modes; then gives questionnaires to the subjects to discover students’ opinions and attitude towards Chinglish. To deepen the analysis, the author collects and analyzes students’ English compositions, and based on the analysis, the following results have been achieved:1. Chinglish has obvious adverse impacts on high vocational students’ English writings, which could be analyzed from three aspects:lexical, syntactic and cultural aspects. On lexical level, Chinglish are mainly expressed in the forms of improper use of words, inversion of words and improper collocation; on syntactic level, overuse of verbs and nouns, improper use of active voice, improper use of synthesis, etc; on cultural level, it mainly expressed that English expressions are not in accordance of English culture.2. Major reasons causing Chinglish in high vocational students’English writings include:negative transfer of Chinese, differences between Chinese and English thinking modes, influence of traditional teaching method as well as students’bad learning habits.3. Some measures can be used to decrease or eliminate the adverse impact of Chinglish. Teachers should emphasize the differences between Chinese and English thinking modes in classes; make example explanation for Chinglish in students’ English compositions to deepen their understanding of Chinglish; attempt to adopt different teaching method and continuously improve personal English proficiency. Students should make full use of all reachable sources and read more English papers and writings in order to understand idiomatic expressions in English and improve language intuition.At last, the author makes a conclusion from following aspects:major findings, research limitations and suggestions for future researches. The author hopes that the research could shed some lights on relevant researches, at the same time, it is hoped that there would be more people pay attention to this research topic in the future.
