Investigation And Reflection On Fuqing Folk Customs

Chinese traditional culture was gradually formed during the thousands of years of arduous struggle and productive life of the people of all nationalities of the Chinese nation, of which some are creative achievements of our great ancestors, some are the inheritance and development of former achievements. Any form of traditional culture is the wisdom product, soul and symbol of the Chinese nation. Till now, traditional culture has formed its features of various kinds and forms, but not unchangeable. With the passage of time and the influence of various subjective and objective factors, each form of traditional culture shows some difference, compared with what it was formed originally.Regionally, even the same kind of traditional culture of the same time differs from region to region. In this article, based on the investigation and research on the current condition of the folk customs in Shangjing Village, learning the current existence and development of the folk customs in the rural areas of Fuqing, the author discusses the problems existing in the countryside and puts forward his ideas on its development.The article consists of3parts. In the first part, traditional festivals, customs, religious belief and other non material culture of Shangjing Village are briefly introduced, getting readers to know its main content, existing patterns and expressions. In the second part, respectively based on the expressions of traditional festivals, customs, religious belief and other non material culture, the author analyzes traditional culture from different aspect. The following3aspects are included:1. Characteristics and the present condition of traditional customs, lying in the research on the history cultural background, people’s living environment and psychology.2. Religious belief. The author mainly analyzes the influence the whole cultural pattern of Fuqing has on the development of local religious belief.3. Analyses on other non material culture. In the third part, the author analyzes the influence of traditional culture on reality in the rural areas of Fuqing in detail. Also, the author puts forward his opinions on how to reasonably develop and make good use of traditional culture. Discard the bad and keep the good, making Chinese traditional culture develop better and more healthily in the rural areas to make further adaptation to the cultural construction of modern new countryside.
