Peng Shuzhi and Qu Qiubai were important early leaders of CCP and alsoexcellent thinkers and leaders of the National Revolution. In the time of the NationalRevolution, Peng Shuzhi and Qu Qiubai took the Guide weekly as the battlefield, using Marxism-Leninism to analyze concrete issues of the National Revolution, theyboth insisted that the National Revolution was of Bourgeois nature, having socialisticand international characteristics; thought that the National Revolution was joint byeach class, its targets were imperialist countries and the feudal warlords, thebureaucrat and compradors, the landlord forces; posted that the ultimate future of theNational Revolution was turning to Socialist revolution, directing to socialism finally;demonstrated why the leader of the National Revolution was proletariat, anddiscussed in varying degrees about how proletariat to realize leadership; approved tousing revolutionary means to carry on armed struggle, and thought deeply to theNorthern Expedition; analyzed theoretically the importance of establishing a unitedbattlefront between proletariat and other oppressed classes(including the bourgeoisie),and given considerable analysis on how to establish a united battlefront; pointed outthat the victory of the National Revolution must launch and rely on the strength offarmers. Their discourses and explains made a significant contribution to thedevelopment of the National Revolution. At the same time, both the national revolutionary ideas of Peng Shuzhi and QuQiubai had their own characteristics, each with some defects and deficiencies. Mainlyreflected it in Peng Shuzhi copied Marxism-Leninism to the guidance of the NationalRevolutionary actual, while Qu Qiubai insisted on combining the theory of Marxism-Leninism with the concrete practice of Chinese revolution, taking a critical attitude tothe opportunism of Chen Duxiu, Peng Shuzhi; There were many opportunistic viewsand errors in Peng Shuzhi’s ideology, such as advocating “working-class is the naturalleader of the National Revolution”, Stubbornly adhering to the “revolutionarythree-step theory” and “perpetual revolution”, etc, while Qu Qiubai confused theboundaries of the democratic revolution and socialist revolution, having an error ofthe “theory of a single revolution”; Peng and Qu divided the new right-wing of theKuomintang into the group of the national bourgeoisie, saw them as therepresentatives of the whole national bourgeoisie, ignoring their essential attribute;Their claims were more of theories rather than specific practices. Factors which led to the differences and similarities of the National Revolutionideology of Peng Shuzhi and Qu Qiubai were their own life experiences, problemawareness, as well as the Communist International and its representatives and theinternal factors of the CCP. Both the National Revolution ideology of Peng Shuzhiand Qu Qiubai had places to be worthy of recognition and reference. not only hadplayed a considerable role in guiding the revolutionary political situation, but alsoprovided both positive and negative experiences and lessons for exploring NewDemocratic Revolution theory, and then having a profound impact on exploring theright path of revolution for the Chinese communists.
