The contemporary Chinese campus song, which was based on the historicalfoundation of campus songs in the early twentieth century, was born in Taiwanin the1980s and was the unique repress tentative of pop music. From the creationsubject to the content, and then to the musical form style, the contemporary Chinesecampus song has its unique aesthetic value and significance.Campus age is an unforgettable age that everyone must go through. And everyonehas a campus complex and dream in their minds. And the the campus song wasborn precisely to fit for audiences’ stories and feelings about campus from the bottom oftheir hearts. I think this is one of the important reasons that campus song can flourish.Campus song plays a tremendous role in the development of the entire Chinese popmusic and the modern pop music, as one kind of art form which has30years history.Therefore, the author believes that study on its aesthetic form and aestheticvalue is necessary. Using the aesthetic form of campus song as the starting point, thisarticle makes a comprehensive study that focuses on the aesthetic value of campus songfrom the perspective of aesthetics, history, etc.The topic of this article is divided into four parts.The first part mainly outlines the conception, the history and evolution, and thedevelopment status of campus song from the perspective of history.The second part studies and discusses the main aesthetic form of campus songwhich includes the positive and healthy music themes, the smooth and natural musicmelody, and the pure and fresh music style of campus song starting with the musicontology.The third part deeply researches the aesthetic value of campus song, including itslyricism and narrative, from the perspective of aesthetics. And this part studies the pureand fresh beauty of campus song.The fourth part is about the arrangement of the whole development process ofcampus song, including the reflection to the depressed state of campus song and theoutlook for the future development.
