Zhao Ding styled himself Yuan Zhen and self-titled De Quan Jushi), who is apolitician and writer in Song Dynasty during its capital transition towards the south. Hehad been created poems295altogether which was characterized by the miserable,depressed, and desolate poetry. However, it has not been received wide attention untilnow. Recently, domestic study of Zhao Ding poetry is still weak. There is no researchmonograph which is relevant to his poems except only single paper. The publishedpaper did textual research on the writer himself and certain poems, or researched onone theme of single poem, as well as just made a brief discussion on the contents andorigins of his poems. The overall research of Zhao Ding’s poems from differentperspectives is still in a blank state. The thesis takes Zhao Ding’s poems as theresearch object and makes an overall study on all the295poems. The authorcomprehensively applies discussion, analysis and comparison methods on the basis ofZhao Ding’s life history. We select some representative works to conduct detailedstudy and try to reflect the overall style and features of Zhao’s poetry.This thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter researches on the emotionconstruction of Zhao Ding poetry, summarizing three kinds of emotional connotations:the sad and helpless feeling towards life, the love of family-country interweaves withworries and hate, and the sentimental and grief emotion towards career. The aim of thechapter is to explore the deeper emotional connotation of the writer’s pomes. Thesecond chapter is about the general summary of the overall artistic style and features.The third chapter is to explore the writer’s inheritance of predecessors and talk aboutthe relationship between poetic style of Zhao’s poetry and Song Dynasty during itscapital transition towards the south. In addition, it deeply analyzes the value of ZhaoDing’s poetry history. Finally, this chapter points out the reason why his poetry has notbeen welcomed.Zhao Ding use sad and dreary style to reflect his own misery heart. Although thepoems have not been concerned, his poems express strong pathetic emotion andemphasize learning poetry writing skills from predecessors. The unique style of his poems reflected from poems is worth studying.
