With the further development of globalization and the rapid growth ofinternational communication, interpreting becomes a more and more importantcareer. As the bridge of cross-cultural communication, interpretation has played asignificant role. However, there are many factors that influence the quality ofinterpretation. Interpreters face problems brought by influences from manyaspects, which affect the quality of information exchange and success ofcommunication. Therefore, it is necessary to find corresponding strategies to dealwith the influence caused by non-linguistic factors in interpretation.This thesis analyses the influence on quality of interpretation from the viewof non-linguistic factors. Then it studies how to overcome these adversefactors to enhance the quality of interpretation, which is aimed to find thestrategies to decrease or overcome the fail caused by non-linguistic factors.This thesis consists of three parts: introduction, main body and conclusion.The major elements are following:The first part is an introduction.It studies and summarizes the research findings of the scholars in the pastand illustrates the theme of this thesis is finding corresponding strategies toovercome the influence caused by non-linguistic factors on interpretation. As aresult, it can reach a perfect interpreting effect。The second part is the main body, which is composed of three parts:The first chapter discusses the theories of this thesis.This chapter briefly introduces the definition, types and characteristics ofinterpretation at first.Then, this chapter illustrates different factors that impact interpretation andpresents the role of non-linguistic factors in interpretation and analyzes effectsmade by the various types of non-linguistic factors in interpreting process.Finally, this chapter discusses the influence caused by non-linguistic factorson interpretation. Through the analysis of non-linguistic factors in the role of the interpretation process, this chapter points out that interpretation is an action ofspecific communication and non-linguistic factors have a very deep and importantinfluence on interpretation.The second chapter mainly discusses the strategies to deal with the influencecaused by non-linguistic factors on interpretation.This chapter firstly discusses how to treat the influence of non-linguisticfactors on interpretation and how to play its positive role effectively and avoid theunfavorable influences on interpretation. Then this chapter illustrates somestrategies to deal with the influence caused by non-linguistic factors oninterpretation.The third chapter discusses the interpreter’s quality in interpretation. It listssome necessary qualities for a qualified interpreter.The last part is conclusion.It mainly summarizes the previous discussions and points out the purpose ofthis thesis. By the study of influence caused by non-linguistic factors ininterpretation, we know that non-linguistic factors influence the effects ofinterpretation directly. However, we can take strategies to decrease or avoid theinfluence caused by those factors. As a result, it can make a successfulinterpretation as well as a successful communication.
