The Comparison About Unofficial Characters Between Gan Lu Zi Shu And Dunhuang Documents

This paper was based on the national Palace Museum of good Ming rubbings edition copy Yan Zhenqing Writing Gan Lu Zi Shu and the Dunhuang Vulgar Dictionary in the standard scripts materials of folk character. Through the comparisons of glyph, some problems were discussed:the diversity and causes of the arrangement of regular scripts of Dunhuang manuscripts, the arrangement of unofficial characters about Gan Lu Zi Shu standard scripts, and their characteristics, and the motivations of Dunhuang folk characters.This paper mainly divides into three parts. Firstly, the diversity of folk characters about standard scripts in the Dunhuang Documents is primarily manifested in stroke and components. And the causes of diversity are studied on transformation about clerical scripts, the features of modern scripts and disyllablization of Chinese words. The second, though the comparison about folk characters of standard scripts between Gan Lu Zi Shu and the Dunhuang Vulgar Dictionary, this thesis will present the actual features of unofficial characters during the standard scripts period. The last, we try to analyse the motivations of Dunhuang folk characters, and then prove the rationality of their existence in this thesis.
