English children’s literature has ushered in a "golden age" in19th century. It has gradually get rid of the religion’s grip, and has features include both education and entertainment, representing the highest level of children’s literature in the world.Anyway, it is worth studying.First, this article combed the British children’s literature from its formation, development to mature course, combining with British social and historical background. Then Ⅰ explore the reasons for booming British children’s literature in the19th century from four aspects:rural to urban changes, the impact of the natural sciences, religion and skepticism, and the industrialization of literature.Secondly, on the basis of text, explore the humanistic care in children’s literature of19th centry, combing with the situation of children and the elementary education in England in19th centry and the influence of Victorianism. The humanistic care is expressed in the imparting of knowledge of the natural sciences, culture empire enthusiasm, also hopes that children can develope themselves with kindness, honesty and diligence. Thirdly, according to the aesthetic characteristics of children’s literature, coupled with the elaboration of the works of children’s literature, and the background of history and literature, excavated the deep meaning of the game spirit. It is not only close to the the psychological when children are playing, but also a creation technique to critique social reality. Finally, based on the analysis of the humane care and the game spirit in British children’s literature in19th century. Then explain the importance and necessity of the fusion of humanistic care and the game spirit in the creation of children’s literature.
