After entering the twenty-first Century, with the continuous development of the global economy, cultural exchange and cooperation between countries have become increasingly frequent. As for College English Teaching in higher education, cultural teaching penetration in daily teaching has received increasing attention; the relevant domestic and foreign theories have been developed and expanded.Under this background, this paper firstly discusses the present situation and the meaning of the study of cultural teaching in College English teaching. The teachers always believe that the students should get through the CET4/6in the College English Teaching in our country, and they will pay more attention to the words, grammar, and sentence pattern teaching in teaching college English. In addition, the students lack power of studying the college English after they experienced the college entrance examination. Influenced by these factors, the teachers focus their attention more on teaching the language itself, and ignore the close relationship between language and culture. The College English class is lacking in connotation of culture. In the university English teaching syllabus, there are no systematic requirement of cultural connotation education, it makes College English classroom teaching have no guidelines of cultural connotations.The second chapter discusses the culture, language, the relationship between language and culture and the development situation domestic cultural teaching. Language is a part of culture, and deeply influenced by culture, which is also unceasingly along with the development of culture. Language carries culture, but also reflects the cultural characteristics. Language is closely connected with culture. From the angle of language teaching, teaching a language is to teach a kind of culture, learning a foreign language is to learn another culture. In recent years, some experts in China became more and more aware of the importance of cultural factors in English teaching. At present, there are more materials focused on the intake of Anglo-American culture in the domestic College English textbooks. The traditional vocabulary, grammar, syntax and single teaching mode for the College English teaching have been gradually changed towards the multiple dimensions of teaching mode for more awareness of the cultural understanding and cultivation of students’ intercultural communication in the direction of efforts.The third chapter discusses the listening and speaking course of culture acquisition strategy, which focuses on the culture teaching strategies and learning strategies in two aspects of culture. With the further understanding of language and culture, the importance of cultural acquisition in foreign language acquisition people has reached a consensus; therefore, it has become key issues discussed by experts on how to introduce culture teaching in English language teaching in University. Teachers take cultural teaching strategies as support in the cultural teaching, including cultural lecture, cultural discussion, cultural appreciation, cultural studies and cultural innovation. As the college English teachers, we should give full consideration to the needs of teaching materials and the teaching object, and adopt reasonable teaching strategy to achieve the goal of cultural teaching. The different content of cultural learning will lead to the different learning strategies. Thus cultural learning strategies should take the specific learning content into account.The fourth chapter is the core of this paper. This paper adopts empirical research method, and demonstrates the feasibility of culture acquisition strategy in Independent College University English classroom. The paper deals with the empirical research on two College English class---The Class5111and Class5112in marketing major. Before the empirical study, the author carried out questionnaire test for the two classes, the test is mainly about the English listening comprehension questions. This listening comprehension can fully test the students on the grasping and understanding the target language culture. If the students’ cultural awareness is stronger, his or her ability of listening comprehension is better. The students of two classes will do the same test in the experiment. After test data comparison, we can find that the results are similar. The results show that the two classes get not enough cultural teaching and the students’ cultural awareness is very weak. According to the survey results, the author takes the class5111into practice for a period of four months of cultural acquisition strategy, whereas the class5112is taught by the traditional English teaching mode. Four months later, the students in the two classes do the same another paper test in the same regulated period, the test results show that the scores in the first class is better than the second one, and the student’s interest in learning English has been greatly improved in the first class, they are more willing to participate in communicative interaction in the classroom, and also students’ learning attitude is better than before because of the penetration of cultural acquisition strategy. Students are more likely to discover problems in the daily English learning. From these result, we can know that cultural acquisition strategy could broaden the horizons of students and cultivate their cultural awareness in College English teaching. Finally, the fifth chapter discusses the importance of cultural acquisition strategy as well as its positive enlightenment in the college English teaching at present.
