Music occupies an important position in people’s life, not only satisfies the entertainmentneeds, but also play the role of education. Music from birth until now has formed a variety ofshapes and styles in hundreds of years. But under the situation of culture Integration, any kindof music is not strictly stick to its own boundaries. According to the art of vocal music, thediversity of style determines that the singing has different methods. Single method will beunable to adapt market, and also can not meet the diversity of vocal style and therequirements of the appreciator. So under the complicated situation, new style is created. Thecross-boundary singing which combine s characteristics of classic and popular music has aremarkable success and is now becoming increasingly popular. We can not judge that classicalmusic evolves to pop music, or popular music is influenced by classical music, actually it is atwo-way choice. They influence each other. Classical music and pop music learn from eachother, and then it derived new musical style which meets the requirements of market. Thecross-border singing now makes success because it makes the past serve the present and makeforeign things serve China. One it learns from the classical scientific methods and singingskills, another it pursues fashion. The songs of pop music are consistent with the trend of thetimes, walk in the forefront of the music. And the music which integrates ancient, modern,Chinese and Western together is playing a more and more important role in our lives, and canbe recognized and accepted by most people.This thesis analyses the respective history of classical music and pop music, and thendiscusses their trend of fusion, at last studies the cross-border singing. It contains three parts.The first chapter mainly introduces the generation and development of classical music, thesecond chapter introduces the generation and development of pop music. The third chapter isthe focus of this thesis. It elucidates the development of two different art forms in today’ssociety, further studies the generation and application of cross-border singing from multipleangles.
