John Edward Christopher Hill,(1912--2003)Is a famous marxisthistorian of British, with so many works, he was wrotten history formany countries, Including many domestic privately compiled history,In the research field of the British revolution, he wrote a lot of historicalbooks.Throughout the entire academic career of the hill,When studyingHill’s historiography thoughts, it is surely that we can not do without hisstudying fields of expertise–the British revolution in the17th century,which is studied for nearly40years。 In the research field of the Britishrevolution, he wrote a lot of historical books.Which have described therevolution directly, which has described the history of society, life,religion before the revolution, excluding elite history, written thehistory for the rabble, which was cover all aspects of social life, it can beclassified as a repositories of entire social revolution. lefted a preciousand abundant information for generations,which have an outstandingplace in the contemporary field of history in British and America, nomatter in quantity or quality。Taking the research of the British revolution in the17th century as afoothold and combining the double dimension of social history and theexperiences of characters, this thesis tries to reappearing a micro history about the British social construction and cultural changes in the20thcentury through tracking personal growth and the ideological evolution ofthe characters。 From the angle of the interaction among the social erabackground, historian’s academic background, and the social culturalevolution, after combing and grasping the process of the growth,development and change of Hill’s historiography thought, this thesis alsostrives to reveal the historical inevitability and contingency of histhought’s growth and development。 From the revolution and by thesocial history, this thesis finds a way to Hill’s revolution concept,whichis from the whole social history research paradigm, in order to objectivelyanalyze and show the essential academic significances of Hill’s socialrevolution research for the contemporary marxist school in British, thesocial culture and the contemporary ideological trend of westernhistoriography。...
