As a report on Escort Interpreting, this dissertation describes one EI task conducted by the author for the Hanas Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Project practice from the winter of2011to the spring of2012, and analyzes the interpretation of the conversations between the foreign engineers from India, Malaysia and the Philippines and Chinese workers to discuss common difficulties of El as well as possible coping strategies and solutions.Assuming that the task process consists of "project background","pre-interpreting preparation" and "procedure of project", characteristics of spot interpretation on technical project are analyzed in detail. And aiming at the different characteristics, the author takes different pre-preparation works. In the procedure of project, the report presents different task of interpreting in each period.In the cases analysis, typical examples are selected for further analysis from three countries with different cultural background, in order to solve the common problems in the cross-cultural communication.Through the task description, analysis and feedback, it is found that (1) the importance of adequate pre-interpreting preparation,(2) characteristics of spot interpretation on technical project and (3) and flexible coping strategies in cross-cultural communication are essential in escort interpreting.
