A Report On Escort Interpreting Of 2016 Ico-D-SEIC-CDUT-Shenkar Project

Under the context of the globalization,interpreting plays an important role.As one of the basic form of interpreting,escort interpreting is widely used for communication,business and academic exchanges etc.This paper is an interpreting project report.The author takes his escort interpreting task of the 2016 ico-D-SEIC-CDUT-Shenkar Project as the case,and discusses two major problems in the task: interpreting problems caused by accent,problems of culture-loaded word interpreting.On the basis of Interpretive Theory of Translation,this paper tires to explore how the problems can be solved by interpreters,and summarizes several strategies so that this kind of interpreting task can be completed better.This report first introduces the 2016 ico-D-SEIC-CDUT-Shenkar project,and then presents the whole process of the author's escort interpreting task in the project.The author analyzes the main problems of his interpreting task in the project,and summarizes out two solutions: First,in the interpretation of English with the accents,the main idea could be interpreted first,then the improved interpreting is provided on the basis of the pragmatic context;in the interpretation of the sentence with the culture-loaded words,transliteration plus explanation technique could be used on the basis of cognitive complement concept.At last,the report mainly talks about evaluations including the feedback from clients,self-evaluation of the escort interpreting task,and three suggestions for future interpreting.The author hopes that this project report can be used not only as a reference for the escort interpretation researchers,but also as the help for the MTI students to learn interpretation well.
