With the development of society and the trend of the global economical andcultural integration, the communication among the nations becomes increasinglyfrequent and closer. Interpretation, as a link connecting two different languages andcultures, is gradually showing its important role in the international communication. Itis not only a simple activity delivering language information but also acommunication behavior of different cultural connotations, and plays a crucial part inthe promotion of mutual understanding between different cultures.Zero translation, as a novel translation strategy, has been widely used by peoplein recent years. As far as translation is concerned, zero translation can provide theinformation of one culture and its language in its original form for another culture andits language, and also can bring new components for the later culture and language. The strategy of zero translation makes it possible to change untranslatability intotranslatability, which leads the research of translation theory to a new stage.Zero translation in interpretation not only helps people solve the culturalproblems caused in the communication activities, but also promotes the mutualcommunication between different cultures. This paper analyses the phenomenon ofzero translation in interpretation from the perspective of culture.
