| The paper intends to demonstrate the significance of creative evolution which isin connection with evolutionism consists in the effort of rooting out the thought of‘representation’ by Bergson.Bergson established his method on life transformism bycriticizing the representation of life philosophy, the object that he chosen wasmechanism and teleology. We will testify his philosophical aim and argue the schemewhich is intended to resolve some problems about transformism through threechapters:First chapter, our point is how the evolutionism of Darwin,Lamarck and otherelse are being accepted and understood, and this chapter involves three groups ofnotions comparative study:the life will and life impulse;he simplicity andmultiplicity;the thole and individuality. We want to understand the relationship amongthese notions and infer the origin of creative evolution. Second chapter,we discussabout the feature of creative evolution through five aspects, thus we need to clarify theprimary the meaning of evolution, namely the meaning of transformism byBergson;and then we must clearly demonstrate the five features of creativeevolution:life impulse, duration, difference, multiplicity and the consequence.Theseconcepts are being supposed as the origin, process, tendency, appearance and result oftransformism, they will be proved to construct the most primary parts of creativeevolution.Third chapter,we are trying to manifest the romanticism of creativeevolution, that is,what romantic or ideal thoughts or academic perspectives thatBergson provided for life philosophy. The paper is planning to demonstrate theromanticism of creative evolution through three aspects. All the three aspects willindicate the significance of his romantic evolutionism consist in the critics torepresentation, and we are able to conclude that anti-representation is a rational angleof understanding creative evolution. |
