The Contract Documents Shicang is another important village document foundedfollowing the Huizhou Documents. This thesis doescomprehensive and systematic studies on the folk characters in The ContractDocuments Shicang. This study is important and significant for the studies of Chinesefolk characters and history of Chinese characters.This thesis, using induction, citation, and comparative research methods,systematically organize and study the folk characters in the Contract DocumentsShicang. Itis divided into five parts. Chapter1introduces the study status quo,significance, method and corpus of this subject. Chapter2defines folk characters,outlines the basic outlook of the Contract Documents Shicang folk characters. andinvestigates and analyses the characteristics of folk characters in the ContractDocuments Shicang. Chapter3summarizes and discusses the ten types of folkcharacters in the Contract Documents Shicang comprehensively, which consist of thecomplex class, simplified class replacement part class, part displacement class, partvariation class, cursive the Kai-oriented class, class, shaped by class, compare andcomprehensive class. Chapter4, the folk characters explanations, investigates theword polymorphic phenomenon, focusing on analysis of the historical development ofthe multiple vulgar levels, clarifying its evolution context, revealing the evolution.Chapter5discusses the significance of the Vulgar Words study of the ContractDocuments Shicang for compiling the large-scale language dictionary.
