A Research Of Hunan Provincial Education Commissioner In The Early Qing Dynasty

The provincial education commissioner was founded in the Northern SongDynasty. It developed into a special official in charge of a provincial culturaleducation in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The Qing Dynasty inherited and developedthe governance official rules from the previous generation, confirmed the provincialeducation commissioner’s appointment,assessment and promotion from system. Thebasic function of the provincial education commissioner in the Qing Dynasty was topreside sui(岁)、ke(科)examination. As an important part of imperial examinationsand school education, the provincial education commissioner get along with country’spersonnel selection. The Hunan provincial education commissioner in the early QingDynasty has went through two stages from Hunan and Hubei unified a provincialeducation commissioner and the each province has own provincial educationcommissioner. The each Hunan provincial education commissioner in post has madeimportant contribution to Hunan’s culture and education,“Hunan is separated fromHubei by examination”（liang hu fen wei）, most of them devoted themselves to theculture and education, made great efforts to supervise local place，perfected official,train personnel, what’s more, they insisted to carry out imperial examination and soon.However,during this period, the provincial education commission existedproblems,which creates a negative social influence in fact.
