Research On Warehousing System In Early Qing Dynasty Of Hunan

As an important part of the traditional system, warehousing system has got the attention of rulers from the early days. Since the Qing Dynasty, based on the succession to the former generation of basic storage policy, the management system has been developed and improved, which makes the warehousing system to play its social functions in the early Qing Dynasty that it should be. At the same time, as the granary, Hunan also has its own certain characteristic.Chapter one, describing the warehousing situation of Hunan in Early Qing Dynasty The first section is focuses on Ever Normal granary, Charitable granary and Public granary to elaborate the development overview of warehousing system in Early Qing Dynasty. The second section is dividing the administrative area of Hunan province in Early Qing Dynasty firstly. Then declare the overview of situation and categories of Hunan in that period. On the basis of this, I had combined with the House Chronicles of Hunan to count up the warehousing situation of each administrative area in Early Qing Dynasty, which would presented in tabular form. The form include seven elements as follows: place names, warehousing names, setting locations, warehousing numbers, years, grain reserves and data sources. According to generalizing these elements, the situation of warehousing in Early Qing Dynasty had been exhibitant clearly.Chapter two, I had classified the warehousing situations in Early Qing Dynasty of Hunan into three categories: Ever Normal granary, Charitable granary and Public granary. Then elaborate each warehousing from three parts as follows: warehousing source, grain source and warehousing management. Due to the development of Early Qing Dynasty had focused on Ever Normal granary and Charitable granary, so I had took this two kinds of warehousing as the main contents. In the section of Public granary, I had picked the GuiDong County Public Granary Managements to making the management becomes clearly.Chapter three, it was divided into three sections. The first section is mainly elaborated warehousing characteristics of Hunan in Early Qing Dynasty. First of all, I had calculated the grain reserves of Ever Normal granary and Charitable granary in each county governments. Based on the analysis of those data, it showed us unbalanced development characteristics in Hunan vividly. Secondly, divided Early Qing Dynasty into three periods, list the number of warehousing that could be known. After this, I had analyzed features of warehousing construction of each period briefly. Finally, described the high grain reserves and a large quantity of output characteristics of Hunan. The second section was focused on the warehousing function of Hunan in Early Qing Dynasty. It mainly concluded disaster relief, grain prices, interest grain loan and the supply of rations. The third section has analyzed the warehousing disadvantages of Hunan in Early Qing Dynasty, such as poor management, procurement not in time, grain erosion seriously, rigid system and so on. Furthermore, I had pointed out the adverse effects on the political, economic and other aspects of the Qing Dynasty especially in the late Qing Dynasty caused by those disadvantages.
