Jian deng xin hua, written by QU You in Ming Dynasty, is a representative work of the Chinese legendary novels which has marked the rise of Chinese legendary novels in the Ming Dynasty and exerted a great influence on the Chinese classical fictions in Ming and Qing dynasties. This novel also plays an important transitional role in the development of the Chinese classical novels. Because its story plots were topics of conversation, Jian deng xin hua had provided various materials for the creation of story scripts and plays in the Ming Dynasty. It is also one of the most influential Chinese classical novels in Eastern Asia in Chinese history. Many authors in Korea, Japan and Vietnam have been inspired to create many works, who even considered it as the best model in novel writing. Among these inspired works, Jin ao xin hua written by Jin Shixi from Korea is a representative with great impact on the later development Korean novels.By literature research and comparative study methods, this paper aims to address a whole observation of QU You and Jian deng xin hua by sorting out its thought and achievement in art so as to make a comparison with Jin ao xin hua the first Chinese novel of the ancient Korea. Taking Cuicui from the former and Li Sheng Peeping through the Wall from the latter as case studies, the author of this paper aims to compare the similarities and differences between them in terms of creative motivation, manners of expressing love, narration pattern, artistic techniques and linguistic feature, etc to explore Jian deng xin hua’s influence on Korean novels as well as the writers’thought and creation in writhing, the author intends to enhance the cultural exchanges between Korea and China.The paper is composed by four chapters.In the introduction part, it descried the purpose and meaning of choosing the topic, the main contents as well as the creative value of this paper.The first chapter focused on systematic description of the main content of Jian deng Xin hua and its writer’s background. The author also classified the specific contents in the novel and introduced the novel’s printing and spreading in Korea, which has laid a solid foundation for the whole paper.The second chapter introduced the main contents and general information of Jin ao xin hua, summarized and commented on the comparative studies between the two works conducted by Chinese and Korean scholars in recent years. It explained the results and deficiencies of the various researches and pointed out the similarities between Jian deng xin hua and Jin ao xin hua in terms of the two authors’backgrounds, plots and language styles.The third chapter concentrated on the case studies Cuicui and Li Sheng Peeping through the Wall chosen from the two novels to reveal the differences in creation motivations, ways of expressing love, narration patterns, artistic figures and linguistic features.The fourth chapter explored the influences of Jian deng xin hua on Korean novels and writers in order to make an effort to promote the cultural communications between China and Korea.By the comparisons study of Jian deng xin hua and Jin ao xin hua in this paper, the author testified the relevance of Chinese novel Jian deng xin hua to Korean romantic novels as well as the similarities and differences between specific works. Meanwhile, by analyzing the Korean writers’writing processes and techniques, the author has found the far-reaching influence of the Chinese romantic novels in the Ming Dynasty, so as to promote the cultural exchanges and cooperation between Korea and China.
