Study On The Logical Truth In Tractatus Logico-philosophicus

This thesis is mainly about one of Wittgenstein’s well-known philosophical works, Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, with precise design.Wittgenstein places the study of language in the center of the whole philosophical research. He believes that philosophy is a kind of activity, which is potentially helpful to clarify proposition by establishing logic in language.In Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, after analyzing proposition, Wittgenstein divides proposition into three categories, including the significant proposition, which can be used as the image of the facts; the less-significant proposition, which on the other hand can not be applied in the facts as images, they are just the form of facts not the facts itself; specious proposition, also called metaphysical proposition, which will try to describe things beyond expression. In Wittgenstein’s view, all we need to do is to make sure the insignificance of the proposition.The paper mainly expounds how Wittgenstein comes to the conclusion that logical proposition is a tautology by logical analysis and logical processing technology. What’s more, the author demonstrates the inevitability of logical proposition in different view. However, Wittgenstein did not put forward of the concept of logical proposition in Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus at first. The theoretical starting point of Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus is to analyze the "world", then through the analysis of the "thinking","image", to the analysis of the "proposition" and a series of argument and processing technology of it, reaching the point of the analysis of "logical proposition". Because of the above information, the thesis involves the analysis of "the world" and "significant proposition" in the writing process.The introduction describes the meaning of this paper---the significance of exploring the logical truth problem lies in the necessity of human research for knowledge. The unique of the thesis is using the logical processing technology to demonstrate the inevitability of the logical truth.Chapter1puts forward the conception of the logical truth, describing how Wittgenstein arrives at the analysis of logic proposition from the analysis of the proposition, by illustrating the theory of image and the theory of truth function.In different aspect, Chapter2demonstrates the inevitability of the logical truth, including the illustration of the inevitability of the logical proposition and the logical inference. The author classifies the demonstration of the truth table, word processing and the viewpoint of the probability as the absolute inevitability, and classifies the demonstration of the excellent paradigm and the propositional structure perspective as the form structure of the congenital inevitability.Chapter3is the thought of the demonstration of the logical truth, with the point of Wittgenstein’s method of presenting the truth table and Wittgenstein’s understanding of the truth and his way of avoiding the criticism from Frege.This is the whole contents.
