As a special research subject, emotional regulation began in the early nineteen eighties. At first, the main research of emotional regulation is about the developmental psychology. In the recent years, it gradual becomes the focus of psychological researches. The empirical researches about the effects of emotional regulation and emotional regulation strategies of thought always focus on cognitive processing strategies, decision-making and all kinds of memories and so on. But as the important part of thought, the research about reasoning with emotional regulation and strategies are few both domestic and overseas. So this study focuses on the influence of negative emotional regulation on reasoning. In the previous studies of reasoning, we gave more attention to study the sufficient condition reasoning. But we always gave less attention to study the necessary conditional reasoning that is equivalent with sufficient condition reasoning in logic. What internal mechanism is the necessary conditional reasoning and does it follow the logic principle or not. So this study focuses the influence of negative emotion attention and emotional stability and emotional regulation strategies on the necessary conditional reasoning and their mechanism of eye movement.Experiment one mainly probe the influence of emotional regulation and emotional stability on the necessary conditional reasoning. On experiment one A, by evoking the negative emotion through the film and guiding subjects to use emotion attention or emotion distraction, we probe the influence of emotional regulation on the necessary conditional reasoning and the mechanism of eye movement. Experiment uses3(emotional regulation:attention, distraction, control group) x4(reasoning forms:MP, MT, DA and AC) two-factor mixed experimental design. The emotional regulation are serving as between-subjects factor, reasoning forms as within-subjects factor, and the subjects’ reasoning results and eye movement data as dependent variable. Eye movement data include fixation time, fixation count and run count. On experiment one B, we probe the influence of emotional stability on the necessary conditional reasoning and the mechanism of eye movement. Experiment uses2(emotional stability:high stability, low stability) x4(reasoning forms:MP, MT, DA and AC) two-factor mixed experimental design. The emotional stability are serving as between-subjects factor, reasoning forms as within-subjects factor, and the subjects’ reasoning results and eye movement data as dependent variable. Eye movement data include fixation time, fixation count and run count.Experiment two, by evoking the negative emotion through the film and guiding the subjects to use emotional regulation strategies, we probe the influence of emotional regulation strategies on the necessary conditional reasoning and the mechanism of eye movement. Experiment uses3(emotional regulation strategies:cognitive re-evaluation, suppression expression, control group) x4(reasoning forms:MP, MT, DA and AC) two-factor mixed experimental design. The emotional regulation strategies are serving as between-subjects factor, reasoning forms as within-subjects factor, and the subjects’ reasoning results and eye movement data as dependent variable. Eye movement data include fixation time, fixation count and run count.Through the research we draw the following several conclusions:(1) Emotional regulation and strategies are able to regulate negative emotion. The regulation is an automatic process and don’t take up cognitive resources. AS a personality trait, emotion stability will influence emotional regulation to promote subjects to finish the necessary conditional reasoning.(2) In conditional reasoning, the influence of emotion on reasoning don’t perform in the cognitive process, but it perform on the process time and counts during cognitive process.(3) During the necessary conditional reasoning process, subjects follows the logic. The form of Denying the Antecedent (DA) and Affirming the Consequent (AC) precede Modus Ponens (MP) and Modus Tollens (MT). This conclusion support Mental Models Approach.(4) During the process of inference proposition, subjects process the premise interest area more and more deeply. It support Rules Approach.
