Every Valley Shall Be Exalted, which’s selected from the oratorio Messiah, created by the famous British composer George Friedrich Handel (1685-1759), shows that the world and people’s thoughts will be completely changed for the coming of Messiah; and Messiah will bring a new and better world. Therefore, this song is one of the very important tenor arias, playing an irreplaceable role on the whole oratorio musically and ideologically. On the perspective of artistic aesthetic, this piece does not merely reflect the religious story or praise God in the religious dimension, but rather focuses on the glorification of human nature and the deep reflection of the inner spirit.Based from his practical experience, in this paper, the author puts forward his own understanding of this piece, from the introduction of the creating background and the analysis of music itself; meanwhile, he gives a deep analysis and conclusion of the use of singing skills, so as to make the singers have a better understanding of this song.
