| From Western Jin Dynasty and Eastern Jin Dynasty, the Metaphysics went through Wang Bi’s Guiwu Theory, Guo Xiang’s Self-transformation Theory and Metaphysics’ combination with the Buddhism in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. The style of discussions on Metaphysics accordingly changed. The transformations of Metaphysics and its discussion style imposed significant influence on the poems. Based on the transformations, the paper takes metaphysics, scholars and poems of Jin Dynasties as the research object, and focuses on the influence which transformations placed on scholars and poems, the contact point and the ultimate goal respectively.It is concluded that the transformation of Metaphysics imposed multifold influences on the scholars and poems. Among Metaphysics, scholars and poems, scholars played the role of contact point between Metaphysics and poems. Firstly, the transformation of Metaphysics influenced the scholars in terms of the mindset, life style and personality. Scholars tended to enjoy a small but convenient cozy place instead of having uncontrollable greed for fame and wealth, chose a leisurely life instead of the undisciplined life and underwent from the personality of conflicts to the personality of harmony. Hence, the poems changed in the content, style and creation method. The poems developed into Xuan Yan Poems from the poems embodying the Metaphysics, formed a style of simplicity and elegance rather than gorgeousness, and were created from oral statement to written ones. Thus, the development of Metaphysics of Jin Dynasties mirrors the establishment and transformation of scholars as well as the changes of poems. The three changes were concurrent. |
