Stolypin agrarian reforms were the last major reforms of late Imperial Russia.Russia was on a society transformation period from traditional feudalism to moderncapitalism at the end of19th century. Various social contradictions along with thesocial transition made the whole Russian society very turbulent and social conflictsincreased. The issue of farmers’ land was always the main conflicts. So solving landproblems has become an important factor in the development of capitalism in Russia.Lenin had a high evaluation of the Stolypin reforms. He thought that it is Russia’ssecond reform.This article focuses on three parts of Stolypin’s land reforms:The ifrst part, mainly dealt with the origin of the Stolypin agrarian reform,ifrststarting from the reforms background, including Stolypin’s personal original thoughtand social background of the reforms.The second part discusses speciifc implementation policy of the Stolypinagrarian reforms. The reforms contained private ownership of land, land policyadjustment, building an exclusive farm land and large-scale immigration to Siberia,the Far East and other areas.The third part discusses the influence of Stolypin’s reform,focusing on influenceon individual farmers, inlfuence on the political and economic,production and livingconditions of farmers after the reforms, the development of productive forces,association of land reform and political reform and the effects of reforms onmodernization of Russian agriculture. In order to conduct an objective research,detailed analysis on the Stolypin agrarian reform from the perspective of both positiveand negative is performed.The conclusion part summarizes the whole thesis, made brief statements of theimpact of Stolypin’s agrarian reform and the problems of the Russian socialdevelopment caused by Stolypin’s agrarian reform.
