Throughout the whole children’s literature works in China, a vast majority ofthem are translated versions of foreign writings. However, China’s children’sliterary works finds it rather difficult to be popular in other countries. What resultsin this? Part of the reason is that few translators focus on C-E translation ofchildren’s literature, and fewer could do an excellent translation.In recent years, China is attaching much importance to promoting its childrenliterature to the whole world. Genniao is a children fiction of great research valueboth in language and in meaning. The author chose it as the original text andtranslated the first three chapters based on which, the author gave a detailedanalysis of the translation.The author firstly gave a brief introduction of the content, illustrated thereason why chose this text and analyzed the language features of the text. Then, theauthor described the whole process of translating the text, including the preparationwork, the schedule development, etc. Next, the author pointed out some issuestranslators should pay attention to while translating children’s literature. Theseissues varied from choice of words, to sentence structure and to cultural elements.The last part was lessons and experience the author had drawn from the translationproject. It was the author’s sincere wish that the translation would provide somereferences for the afterward translators.
