Study Of Learners’ Verb-Copying Acquisition In Thailand

Verb-copying construction is a special construction of Chinese. The thesis is trying to research verb-copying in the field of teaching Chinese as a second language. We tested a group of learners in Thailand. And the test results account for that verb-copying acquisition in the primary stage time has no relation with if they studied verb-copying or not, but do have relation with how long time they studied Chinese. The learners who get longer time on studying Chinese can get better acquisition on verb-copying. And the learners who get less time on studying Chinese just cannot be as good as the formers. We got some errors in this test at the same time. We analyzed these errors. Finally, we gave some recommendations that come from our research to teaching a second language in the classroom. The thesis consists of six chapters.Introduction This part introduced the reason for choosing this topic, the valuation of this topic, the method of study, the source of examples.Chapter TwoIn this chapter, according to the development of verb-copying researching we staged the researching of verb-copying into three stages:unnamed stage, arguing stage, sub-direction stage.Chapter ThreeIn this Chapter according to Second Language Acquisition, the rank of verb-copying in Fu Yunhua (2008) we designed a test about verb-copying, and analyzed the results of this test. And we ranked an acquisition order of verb-copying.Chapter FourIn this chapter we analyzed the errors of verb-copying from test, and classified the errors into two types:local errors and global errors. We are also trying to explain the reason why they can make these errors.Chapter FiveAccording to verb-copying acquisition order, we gave some guidance to teaching Chinese as a second language. We answered the field that how to take on verb-copying teaching. We did a teaching plan to a text of HanYu HuiHua301Ju.ConclusionIn this part we concluded the merits and demerits of this thesis.
