Henan Huaibin Dialect Research

Huaibin county, which belongs to Xinyang city, is located in the southeast of Henan Province, neighboring Fuyang city of Anhui Province to its east and Gushi County of Xinyang City to its south. As a part of Xinbeng branch of Zhongyuan Mandarin, Henan Huaibin dialect has much research value for its sharing some characteristics of Southwest Mandarin and Jianghuai Mandarin due to its geographical and historical reasons. But linguistic study on Henan Huaibin dialect is small.The paper provides some detailed materials for the study of Chinese.This paper makes a more comprehensive study on Huaibin dialect, mainly involving three parts of speech, vocabulary, grammar. The introduction part is mainly about the relevant situation of Huaibin County, literature review of the local dialect and the relevant details in this paper. The speech part explains the phonetic system, the phonology tune table, the homophones of Huaibin dialect and compares Huaibin dialect with Mandarin and other dialects of the surrounding counties or cities from the diachronic and synchronic perspectives. The vocabulary part presents the classification of vocabulary in Huaibin dialect. The grammar part describes some special morphological and syntactic phenomena in Huaibin dialect.
