Research On The Relationship Between Confucianism And Buddhism Thought Of Gushan Zhiyuan

Zhi yuan is the representative of Tian Tai Buddhism Shan-wai school in the earlynorthern song dynasty,, and also the representative of promoting unity theoryConfucianism and Buddhism. Studying the Zhi yuan’s theory is help for us tounderstand Tian Tai Buddhism principles of northern song dynasty, to further graspthe trend of Chinese Buddhism in the later song and yuan dynasty. Furthermore it canalso help us to know the evolution of the northern song dynasty’s history and the spiritof new Confucianism,it has important theoretical and practical value. For this,thecontent of this paper is as follows:The first part mainly introduces the ideological background of Shan Jia’s outsidethe mountains battle,this battle is a motion which takes place in Tian Tai internal andbecause of the doctrine legitimacy,the size is great and the theme is profound anddetailed,it is rare in the whole Chinese Buddhism history. The center figure of thispaper is Zhi Yuan,the representative of Shan Wai school. His thought’s inspectionmust place in the Shan Wai, even the whole song dynasty Buddhism such a largeenvironment. So it is necessary to start with Zhi Yuan’s age background,and carries onthe detailed analysis and research.The second part elaborates the Buddhism thought of Zhi Yuan and the study ofConfucianism. His academic tenet is ultimately the philosophical connotations. AsTian Tai monk, he has the original opinion of Tian Tai Buddhism thought. Accordingto Shan Wai’s orthodox, he is not afraid of authority,repeatedly debate with theetiquette’s Shan Jia. In terms of Confucianism, Zhi Yuan expo three canon and deepthree principles,his idea is derived from Taoism,especially the Confucianism tenet.Zhi Yuan has a profound experience on the Six Channels as well as the ancient prosemovement.The third part deeply analyzes the theory of the relationship between Zhi Yuan’sConfucianism and Buddhism,which is also the key content discussed in this paper.From the ideological background of Zhi Yuan’s theory,focus on the relationshipbetween Confucianism and Buddhism.
