A Study On Radical Rou Of Shuowenjiezizhu

Since Shuo WenJieZi written by Xu Shen came out, there were so many Scholars indifferent dynasties had done research on it. Duan Yucai was the most prominent one, hisShuo WenJieZiZhu is one of the most accomplished works in the history of Chineselinguistics.This paper aims to study on Chinese characters attached with the radical of Rou inShuo WenJieZiZhu. By Contrasting the radical of Rou in Shuo WenJieZi, we will identifythe changes that Duan Yucai had done on it, Then we will classify the changes. Thispaper focuses on the changes of meaning which Duan Yucai had done on the charactersof the radical of Rou. The paper consists of six parts. Part one is a brief introduction andthe summary of the previous studies about Shuo WenJieZi and Shuo WenJieZiZhu. Thesignificance and research methods of this paper also have been included in this part. Inpart two, we will analysis of the rule of the arrangement in radical Rou. In addition wewill summarize the way that Duan Yucai had changed the the characters in radical Rou.Part three focuses on the changes of the characters in radical Rou, which was made byDuan Yucai, then the changes will be divided into four categories. The fourth part, thechanges of the meaning will be the key research, Especially the real sense of the changes.Part five is about the ancient culture revealed characters of radical Rou. In the end of thispaper a simple summary about the full paper will be done.
