Characteristics Of The College Students’ Internet Deviant Behaviors And The Relationship Between Internet Deviant Behavior And Psychological Needs Internet Gratification

Internet deviant behavior is a relatively new problem of social network, and attracts the researchers’attention because of its high frequency of occurrence as well as many of the negative impact in recent years. To explore the characteristics and influent factors of college students’internet deviant behavior can not only enrich and perfect the theory of health behavior and the field of internet morality, but also can realistically direct the prevention and intervention program of the internet deviant behavior of undergraduates.Through the methods of interview and questionnaire, this study explored the relationship between college students’internet deviant behavior and psychological needs internet gratification. Firstly the main deviant behavior types in the process of college students’using internet were concluded from in-depth interviews and coding summarized. Secondly, college students’internet deviant behavior questionnaire was designed according to the method of psychological survey and the basic characteristics of college students’internet deviant behavior were explored. Finally, we investigated the association between internet deviant behavior and psychological needs internet gratification and the difference of different internet deviant behavior college students’ internet gratification of the psychological needs.From10students through coding analyst about interview materials and from1024students through exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, analysis of variance, regression analysis, cluster analysis, the results showed:1. From the interview,5types of the deviant behaviors were discovered in the process of college students’internet using:network extreme behavior, network cheating behavior, network pornography behavior, bad information behavior, infringement privacy behavior.2. After the survey, the college students’internet deviant behaviors still have5dimensions. The study found that the questionnaire has good reliability and validity.3. College students’use of network in good condition, the internet deviant behavior overall is in below middle level, and there were gender differences, grade differences, professional differences and school differences. 4. There was notable interrelated between internet deviant behavior and internet gratification of the psychological needs. The higher degree of internet gratification of needs to meet challenges, interpersonal escapism, autonomy and achievement.The greater likelihood to occur on the undergraduates, but the higher in the cognitive needs of network,the smaller in the possibility of network deviant.5. The internet gratification of the psychological needs in the network deviation group was significantly higher than the non-deviation group.in addition there were not significant difference between network deviation group and the non-deviation group in the degree of escapism reality needs of internet gratification, cognitive needs of internet gratification degree in network deviation group was obviously lower than the non-network deviation group,others in the network deviation group was clearly higher than the non-network deviation group.6. The network deviation actor by clustering analysis could be divided into three group:high invading privacy behavior group, network cheat and erotic behavior group, network excesses and bad information group. There was no significant difference in three groups.7. Internet gratification of the psychological needs had different forecast function in different types of network deviation.the higher in autonomy needs of internet gratification, the lower in cognition and achievement needs, the greater in the likelihood of the behavior of ontogeny violated privacy;The higher in facing challenge needs of internet gratification,the lower in escapism reality and cognitive demand,the greater in the likelihood of occurrence of the network cheat and sexual behavior;The higher in facing challenge demand,the lower in self-identity and cognitive needs of internet gratification, the greater in the likelihood of the occurrence of excesses and bad information behavior.
