Discourse Connected Component is the central part in studying of cohesion andcoherence, and as a important means of convergence, it has been the focal point of studying.In this paper, we study of “shi zheme hui shi”(是这么回事)from pragmatics, semanticsand discourse on the background of discourse. In addition to the description and research of“shi zheme hui shi”, we also discriminate with “so”(是这样), and it’s also has the sameusing in chaoters. The paper is divided into five parts.The first chapter is introduction. In this part, we account for the significance of the topic,research ideas and the sources of the corpus.The second chapter, we study of “shi zheme hui shi”from the nature and the process ofgrammar. Through studying of the corpus, we found that in modern Chinese there haveseveral same “shi zheme hui shi”: the first one is the temporary combination part, duing tothe need expressed of temporary. The second one is that as a concretionary structure, it has acertain stability structure than before, and passing the syntax of it has the function of phrases(it can be subdivided into two categories). The third one is the strongest one, it has a cleartendency vocabulary, but still not empty word. In chapters,“shi zheme hui shi”has been afurther blur, and with a discourse marker functions. In these three categories, the last one isthe important.The third chapter, we analyze the external and internal semantic relations of speech blockof “shi zheme hui shi”.We take three point of view in analyzing it: the features discourseunits after it; the position as a overall of “shi zheme hui shi”+the direct discourse units andthe semantic relationship with context of it. As usual, it is used guiding the interpretation ofdescriptive language in chapters, and it also can be divided into four categories: causality;conversion relationship; commentary relationship and undertake relationship.The fourth chapter, we analyze the pragmatic and textual of “shi zheme hui shi”indiscourse. The pragmatic of it are: expressing the focus information; reminding and soothingtone. The textual punctional of it are: specifying the thrust of the article; words reminding mark; turn marker and the explanatory discourse marker.The fifth chapter, we analyze the similarities differences between “shi zheme hui shi”and“so”. The one hand is the difference: in chapters, there are differences between them in thesubsequent sentence, structural properties, the degree of blur, as well as the regional use. Theother hand is the similarity: in the chapters they can be located in the beginning of a sentence,or in the between of a sentence; as a visible grid connection of a article, they appear or hidethat can not be influence of the chapters; and in the speech blocks, the semantic relationshipsof them between before and after.
