On The Image Of Lv Yuan’ Poetry

Lv Yuan, a poet with his own unique writing style, has written many excellentpoems in the creative career of nearly seven decades. With increasing age and lifeexperience, his writing style begin to change greatly, from the pure and fantasy style nearly stage to the full of enthusiasm in medium-term and becoming rational later, aseries of changes is very clear. Also, the theme and the imagery is changing constantly.Imagery and poem creation interact closely; the imagery is the external performanceof inner spiritual world of the poet, meanwhile, the poet uses imagery to conveyperception of the external world. This paper sorts out these imageries with differentstyles in different period of Lv Yuan’s poems in order to have a better grasp of poetry.In this thesis, the main body consists of three chapters.The first chapter discourse the typical imagery in dreamy romantic fairy talepoem period when Lv Yuan begins to create poems."Night" imagery, which dreamsand reality dissolve deeply, reflects the sweet and romantic imagery of childlikeinnocence and social cruelty but indomitable "Flag" imagery.The second chapter discourse those "saw" and "windmill" imageries in theperiod when the poet impact reality and create political lyrics, which reflect the socialphenomenon about facing life and criticize the society. Simultaneously, the chapterdiscourse "Ray" and "Knife" imagery which wake up the responsibility to resist theunfair phenomenon. Also, the chapter shows some warm, beautiful and philosophicalimagery when after the founding of new China.The third chapter discourse obscure imagery and philosophical imagery whenLv Yuan experience "Hu Feng counter-revolutionary group" and "CulturalRevolution" the two devastating setbacks and persecution in life. In his writing style,argumentation gives way to philosophical, as well as delicateness gives way tosimplicity.
