Research On The Outlook On Dream Image And The Dream Story In Zhuangzi

Zhuang-zi is a famous character in history of culture, and his book reaches to avery high state in philosophy, literature and aesthetics. The thesis discusses thedreaming image in Zhuangzi from three aspects said above.In ChapterⅠ, firstly we introduce the Zhuangzi’s times background, lifeexperiences and the thoughts and spreads of the book Zhuangzi. Then we outline andclassify the eleven dreams in the book. Lastly taking the views of sages having nodreams and dreaming or aware as examples, we interpret the dream outlook ofZhuangzi.In chapterⅡ, we analysis the means of butterfly dream in the ways of philosophy,literature and aesthetics. On the bases of induction of commentaries on butterflydream, we come to the conclusions that the dream’s philosophical purport is theequality of things; as a prototype, its influences on Chinese literature have two kinds.What’s more, its aesthetic means bring about a new way of understanding the world.In chapterⅢ, we analysis the means of skeleton dream in the ways of philosophy,literature and aesthetics. On the bases of induction of commentaries on skeletondream, we study Zhuangzi’s outlook on life and death. Then we discuss the literarycharacteristics of skeleton dream. Lastly, comparing with V·Hugo and C·Baudelaire,we interpret the reason of his treating the ugliness as beauty.In chapterⅣ, we analysis the means of other four dreams in Zhuangzi throughthe ways of philosophy, literature and aesthetics. The philosophical thoughts areidentical with his consistent thought and thinking mode. Then we discuss the literarycharacteristics and the influence as example on later ages. Lastly, we investigate theaesthetical thought of treating not being as beauty.
