English is one of the most common languages in the world. With the speeding upof the global economic integration process, with the quality and ability of the Englishsenior specialized talents demand is becoming more and bigger. The vigorousdevelopment of the higher vocational education has trained a large number of advancedtechnology applied talents for the economic and social development of our country.From all walks of life also pay more and more attention on higher vocational Englisheducation and its effect.Starting from the actual situation of higher vocational students of learning Englishin China, the current maladjustment in higher vocational English teaching needs to bereformed. Our country’s higher vocational students English learning concept is notstrong, and lack the interest in learning English, and the English foundation is weak, andalso lack of the awareness of English learning strategies, and the consciousness is notstrong, and the use of the method is not allowed. China’s higher vocational students’English learning is very worthy of our worry. In the process of public English learning,students’ autonomous learning ability is not strong. What’s more, in the process ofpublic English teaching, a teacher tend to ignore it, often has no concerns with thecurrent situation of higher vocational students English learning, and always ignore theproblems of students in learning English. This makes the study of English learningstrategies of higher vocational students is particularly urgent.Through to the research and development of Chinese literature, I decided theresearch direction. in this study combined with the literature analysis, questionnaire,interview and other methods to collect information and data, then through datastatistical analysis to study the status of, and know about the problems existing inEnglish learning strategies of higher vocational students. Finally, this study is aiming atthe problems on the English learning strategies of higher vocational students, and putsforward some Suggestions of training higher vocational students’ English learningstrategy.This research contents mainly around the following three aspects: highervocational students English learning strategy’s situation, contains the current situationand the existing problems of higher vocational students English learning strategy use;the factors related to the English learning strategies of higher vocational students, suchas: learning concept, learning motivation, grade and gender, effect on the Englishlearning strategies of higher vocational students; Higher vocational students Englishlearning strategy training countermeasures. Through the survey of English learningstrategies of higher vocational students, it is not hard to find the overall situation ofEnglish learning strategy use of higher vocational students surveyed is poor, and theusing situation of girls are better than boys, and the students in the lower grades arebetter than the higher grades, and Learning concept, learning motivation, grade and gender have significant correlation with English learning strategies, among them, theconcept of learning, learning motivation and grades of higher vocational students has agreat influence on English learning strategies. Basing on the results of the survey, thispaper put forward the higher vocational students of English should have Englishstrategies’ training, set up correct learning concept, and excite autonomous learningmotivation, and according to different characteristics take different measures to improvethe ability of learning English, and I hope the suggestions can help students improve theEnglish learning effect.
