Marquis de Sade was a French aristocrat erotic novelist in eighteenth century. He had arollercoaster life, gained extreme notoriety by the paraphilias which he had written in hisnovel and the social scandal of him selves, but also respected by his progressive philosophicalthought, these also lead him to become a controversial erotic writer in French literature history.This paper argues that the impact of Sade to the French literature is positive. By means ofanalysis of the French Enlightenment Movement and the European erotic novel developmentof this historical background, combined with the specific circumstances and creativeconsciousness of Sade his own, to unscramble Sade himself and his masterpiece "Justine,ouLes Infortunes de la vertu", in order to dig out the philosophy and positive influence behindSade ’s erotic world.The thesis is divided into four parts. Foreword section introduces Sade’s life、his creationand research status about him. I try to sort out the relation between Sade and the FrenchEnlightenment Movement. As nobility, Sade preferred to seek freedom and oppose traditionalideology, but he also had a sense of regret for the feudalistic privilege, his complex attitudeinfluenced the French Enlightenment Movement and the French Revolution. And try tosort the image in Sade’s masterpiece "Justine,ou Les Infortunes de la vertu" in the secondchapter, in order to get some philosophy which are behind the erotic descriptions. The thirdchapter may trace the internal and external factors which influence his creation, also includehis female consciousness.In this article, through reading Sade’s masterpiece "Justine,ou Les Infortunes de la vertu",aims to reveal his alternative thinking which brings to us, get a better understanding of Sade、his writings and his unique contribution to the literature.
