Under the condition of predictable consequences, academic procrastination refers to thebehavior tendency that people still postpone to execute what they intend to do, and it is avery common phenomenon among college students. Not only does academic procrastinationresult in grades slip but also in lower efficiency. If things continue in this way, it will generateanxiety, depression and other negative emotions, even low self-esteem and low self-efficacy.Hence, in-depth to explore and research effective measures to improve college students’academic procrastination has become extremely urgent and important.On the basis of the predecessors’ research and summarizing the relating relevance theoryat home and abroad, I attempt to use group career guidance to intervene in academicprocrastination of college students in the form of group interposal to add bricks add tiles interms of measures to ameliorate the academic procrastination, thereby increasing the qualityof college students and maintaining their physical and mental health.We surveyed463college students through questionnaires and interviews, and finallyselected14subjects, with7experimental subjects and7subjects in the control grouprespectively. The study used methods of pretest and post-test design. First, we tested all the14subjects according to <Arousal Procrastination Scale> and <Avoidant Procrastination Scale>,and then the experimental group received vocational career guidance, neither did the controlgroup. We adopt the same scale again in the two groups after two months and analyzedwhether there was any distinct differences before and after the test. In addition, theexperimental group subjects were to receive follow-up inquiry in the next three months. Theresults are as follows:(1)13.4%college students have academic procrastination phenomenon.(2)There is no significant gender differences in academic procrastination among collegestudents.(3) Group career guidance can effectively improve the academic procrastination amongcollege students.(4)The program of group career guidance is a feasible career planning project amongcollege students, which is economical and practical, feasible and can be applied and promoted in colleges and universities.(5)Effect of group career guidance intervention will not significantly reduce with eachpassing day.
