Based on the Dunhuang Art Heritage and the practice of Chinese oil painters as the starting point, this article through analysis the art worker’s point of view in history at the typical art events times. From the analysis results, we can find that the artistic point of view at that moment direct influent their artistic practices. Through the study of Dunhuang art heritage and Chinese painting practice toexplore Chinese and Western artistic differences, and transition of Chinese oil painting.Every age and art in transition time, there are many artists had thought and practices on the national character of the Chinese painting, the oil painting is no exception. Along with the time change and the development of globalization, as an important historical period of China oil painting in the twenty century, many literary and art workers have done exploration and practice under this historical context. This paper selects some famous artists whose practice were closely linked with the Dunhuang Academy of Fine Heritage at the beginning of the twentieth century to twentieth Century fifty or sixty years. In the development of the art on the road, they have a similar experience--had studied in the west, accept western culture and education. But when faced with the traditional culture and arts, they choose the respect of their own national culture and based on the local community, and positive connection between Chinese and western culture, actively construct, conscious creation. Then explore the oil painting be localized and nationalized.
