Information Design Of Longmeng Cave

With1500years of history, Longmen cave are still popular among artists and scholars for the artistic value and Buddhist culture, providing a large number of research literatures and files. The research materials however are too complex and difficult for the digest of the mass. At the same time, with the advent of information age, people are overwhelmed by the vast amount of information and hard to easily get information they want. Obviously information brings convenience to people but profoundly affects people’s way of life as well, thus traditional ways to propagate Longmen cave may have fallen behind the development of society.The thesis therefore is to first of all review the current studies on visualization of information, statistics, logic, and semiotics, which constitute the theory basis of this thesis. Secondly, the author’s own design concept is to be exposed by combining the design theme of Longmen cave with researching. Finally, a visualized design is put forward on the basic information of the Longmen cave, the Longmen cave and historical figures and diaspora collection information according to information design methods and process.This design makes new attempts in the transmission of Longmen cave by creating an information design in a simple way to carry out the complex and large capacity of information. The audience can easily receive the information they want, and the excellent culture of Longmen cave can be better promoted.
