Chinese tradition musical instruments have enjoyed profound history. Chinese ancestorshave left a multitude of highly distinctive ethnic musical instruments which are not onlyperformed on traditional dance and music occasions, but also play a significant part in suchevents as weddings, funerals, celebrations, birthday parties, folk activities and festivals. At thesame time, instrumental music noise is getting more and more concern and attention. However, there are few research about Chinese tradition musical instrument acoustics and theavailable basic data of studies on the spectral characteristics from the perspective ofEnvironmental Acoustic is very limited. In the evaluation of the characteristics of airborne sound insulation of building elements, due to the same element shows different actual sound insulation effect when noise source isdifferent, pink noise and traffic noise spectrum adaptation term are considered when calculatethe insulation evaluation. Chinese tradition instruments have their own unique way andspectral characteristics of pronunciation, therefore, analyzing the spectral characteristics ofChinese tradition instrument and discussing on the spectrum adaptation of airborne soundinsulation evaluation of building elements when which music sound treated as a noise sourcehave a very important practical significance to the promoting of green building anddevelopment of national culture and Chinese tradition musical instrument acoustics.Firstly, this research calculate the average spectrum of5representative solo of each10Chinese tradition instruments, then by A-weighted and normalized, obtain spectrumadaptation curves of9instruments and divide of which into two categories A and B withcalculating with characteristics of airborne sound insulation of28common building elementsand carried out preliminary experiments. The research finally obtains the results as followswith comparing the calculated and measured values:(1) Curve A can be used to calculate the spectrum adaptation term when the noise sourceis the musical of Chinese tradition instrument Guqin, Hulusi, lute, dulcimer, vertical bambooflute, or erhu;(2) Curve B can be used to calculate the spectrum adaptation term when the noise source is the musical of Chinese tradition instrument Suona, or Sheng;...
