Practice Project Report On Scientific And Technical Literature

With the rapid development of science and technology, Scientific and technologicaltranslation is becoming one of the important contents in the process of interactioninternationally. So scientific and technological translation, especially the translation ofscientific and technological Japanese, is important to introduce and study advancedforeign science and technology. I collected over one hundred document literatures, and Iunderstand and grasp the language characteristic and attentions in the process oftranslating the Japanese scientific and technological literatures into Chinese. In this paper,I discover, raise, conclude and accumulate some skills for the translation of scientific andtechnological Japanese through the practice, such as the term translation, augmentation oromission of words, integration and split of sentence group and dealing with the longsentence. Moreover, I quote the latest materials and make a breakthrough in the specialistliterature under the using of translation CAD tools.I accumulate the experience to translate the Japanese scientific and technologicalmaterials and I make a deep study and thought in translation, especially the translationfrom Japanese to Chinese, to understand the character and trait of scientific andtechnological Japanese, so I conclude the translating skills and characters in vocabularyand sentential aspect about the Japanese-Chinese scientific translation. What I get fromthis translation practice is: for a qualified translator, he has not only the bilingualknowledge and advanced translation skills, but the fully understanding the translationactivity and pay attention to the steps for translation, he should grasp the stylistic featuresin translation process to make a targeted language transformation. I hope this paper canafford as a lesson for the translators through the analysis of the examples about scientificJapanese skills.
