The United States on China’s Anti-Japanese War gave various forms of assistancefrom1931-1945. However, the U.S. attitude to China on China’s Anti-Japanese Warhad undergone a continuous process of change, showing from the beginning stayingout of China to the limited aid and then to the overall aid to China’s resistance. In thecourse of this change, the role of the media was enormous. Chinese image shaped bymedia gradually changed American public opinion, largely influenced the decision ofthe U.S. government aid to China. Making the media empire under the leadership ofRuth as a example, the paper including fives chapters in three parts, discusses andanalyzes the role of the U.S. media in the process of U.S. aid to China. The first part of this article is the first chapter and introduces the basic situationof Luce and various media under his leadership, including Ruth’s Chinese Complexand the "American Century" ideal, as well as the scale and impact strength of hismedia empire in U.S. News Press at that time. Section II discusses the theoreticalrelationship between the mass media from the United States between governmentdecisions, which provides a theoretical basis for this article discusses topics. The second part, including the second chapter, the contents of Chapters III andIV, is the main part of this article as well as. Among them, the second chapter from"September18th Incident" in1931to “Marco Polo Bridge Incident” in1937, althoughLuce media began to "China’s image" to shape, but because still in its infancy, theintensity of American public opinion was not yet sufficient to affect thedecision-making level of government aid to China, therefore, the U.S. attitude towardChina’s aid was lukewarm; The third chapter describes the stage from the Marco PoloBridge Incident in1937to the Pacific War breaking out in1941, and Luce media,"China’s image," the re-shaping, inspired the American people and governmentofficials concerned about the Chinese war, promoting the government had adopted aseries of " restricting Japan and aiding China " measures; The fourth chapter from thePearl Harbor incident in1941to the Surrender of Japan in1945, described U.S. media"China’s image" shaping deeply, so that China gradually formed Americanized image.and Kai-shek’s visiting American as an example. In this context, the United Statesconducted a comprehensive variety of factors comprehensive assistance to China, including economic aid and military assistance and political support aimed atimproving China’s international status.Overall, the reports of the U.S. media about China were tendentious during1931-1945. This tendency mainly as follows: on the one hand, from not much reportabout China to positive reports on China, and then to the overall shape of the image of China in the United States; on the other hand, many drawbacks in China were rarelyreported. Time Inc led by Henry Luce is a media empire having great influence in theUnited States in that period. And it is a typical representative of the media in Chinareported tendentious. Under the shape of the U.S. media as represented by Luce media,China is an Americanized image in the eye-s of the American public and governmentofficials, which provides a good foundation for China to fight America’s economic, military and political aid.The third part is the fifth chapter, mainly introduced in the understanding of theso-called "China’s image," U.S. aid to fight against China on the basis of a positiveeffect, but also should recognized that "China’s image," shaped was not the result ofwishful thinking American media, but the result of the joint efforts of the two sides.Articles shows strong response to the shaping of the United States media “the imageof China” from three aspects.
