This study among1558students who come from two schools in Ganzhou andtwo colleges in Guangzhou,following “the question―literature analysis―studydesign and implementation—developed tools and Material preparation—Surveymeasurement and experimental research―Structure and characteristics—Influencing Factors” research,to explore the structure and characteristics ofadolescents’ ego-identity. On the basis of literature analysis,we revise “Dimensionsof Identity Development Scale”(DIDS) to survey ego-identity formation Structureand the characteristics of development;Using the implicit experiments to explore theimplicit structure of adolescent’s self-identity;exploring parental autonomy supportand the satisfaction of basic psychological needs,how to influence identityformation,theoretical and empirical basis for adolescents’ ego-identityformation.Safely draw the conclusion by this study:(1)Adolescents’ ego-identity structure consists of five dimensionsconstitutes:exploration in breadth,commitment making,exploration in depthidentification with commitment,ruminative exploration.(2)In this study,through revising “Dimensions of Identity Development Scale”,Thestatistical results showed that the questionnaire has acceptable reliability andvalidity.(3)Adolescens’ ego-identity is a dual structure, that is, an implicit structure and anexplicit structure are separing.(4)Adolescents’ ego-identity development closes to medium level,the developmentof Self-identity dimensions is not balanced, exploration in breadth ie thebest;exploration in depth exists significant gender differences, boys on exploration indepth dimension significantly with higher than girls;ego-identity formation existssignificant differences on whether they are the only child,the only child onexploration in breadth,identification with commitment,ruminative exploration,ego-identity significantly with higher than who they are not the only child;significant grade stage differences in flow of adolescents’ identity of the elementarylevel,the late Adolescents’ ego-identity is the best.(5)Parental autonomy support and the satisfaction of basic psychological needs havea significant negative predictor of adolescents’ ego-identity formation,the satisfactionof basic psychological needs is more important to predict adolescents’ego-identity;the satisfaction of basic psychological needs plays some intermediaryrole between Parental autonomy support and identity.
